Course Description
The Certificate Course in Nephrology is designed for practitioners like you who want to work in the field of nephrology. Despite the technical advances and resources devoted to the treatment of renal diseases, it is still a growing burden all over the world. Therefore, patients with kidney disease must be diagnosed early and provided appropriate and timely treatment. Although these patients should be referred to a nephrologist, primary care physicians are the first point of contact for most patients.
However, most primary care physicians demonstrate a poor knowledge of the optimal management of kidney disease. Thus, comprehensive knowledge of the management of chronic kidney disease, prevention of inadvertent acute kidney injury, and electrolyte physiology is required to improve patient care and clinical outcomes.
The Certificate Nephrology Course comprises multiple visual aids, case presentations, and interactive elements to give a clinical perspective to theory. Expert talks from KOLs allow a practical approach to the course content.
The nephrology course covers core competencies namely:
- Underlying renal physiology and the electrolyte and acid/base disorders
- A strategic approach to patients with kidney disease with a myriad of presentations
- Diagnosis, evaluation, staging, and treatment options for patients with kidney disease
- Understanding of underlying fluid and electrolyte disturbances
The Medvarsity Learning Design framework (Certificate, Advanced Certificate, and Fellowship) is based on Kirkpatrick’s model of e-learning and allows the systematic consumption and application of the content.
We at Medvarsity strive to equip every physician with the ability to fast-track their career and enable them to better serve the communities in which they practice.
