Course Description
The Fellowship in Internal Medicine – Level II is designed by eminent internal medicine specialists for doctors who are interested in treating multiple systemic diseases.
The increased onset of chronic illnesses and comorbidities such as hypertension, heart failure, osteoarthritis, diabetes, lung, and renal diseases has brought an individual’s comprehensive health into focus. Internal medicine as a specialty focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adults across the broad spectrum from health to complex illness. In this era of specialization, patients are forced to visit multiple specialists for proper medical treatment. At times, such patients fail to obtain optimal treatment, eventually leading to a deterioration of their overall health. An internal medicine specialist can treat diseases comprehensively with their knowledge of pathologies of multiple systems.
The Fellowship in Internal Medicine – Level II course incorporates live virtual classes, case studies, and expert talks to give a clinical perspective to theory. In addition, you will be placed in a 6-month contact program in the internal medicine department of a reputed hospital. This will provide you with an opportunity to gain training and hands-on experience under the supervision of distinguished faculty.
Delivering 15 modules that culminate in nearly 45 hours of learning and contact program in 6 months. The course covers core competencies such as:
- Learning about managing medical complexities in critical care and ICU.
- In-depth medical knowledge and mastery of additional skills in multiple disciplines such as adolescent health, geriatric medicine, emergency medicine, critical care, palliative care, dermatology, and psychiatry.
- Recent advances in nuclear and regenerative medicine.
- Case-based discussion on medical oncology and radiology.
Simultaneously, you will be a part of a 6-month clinical rotation at a leading corporate hospital under the supervision of renowned professionals, which will allow you to apply the theoretical knowledge gained to practice.
Learning complex medical concepts in the traditional didactic textbook and lecture format can be alienating for students. It prevents the opportunity to apply this knowledge clinically.
Fellowship in Internal Medicine – Level II incorporates a Case-Based Learning Approach within the Medvarsity Learning Framework to address this gap in medical education. With this unique methodology, students consume relevant medical content while learning concepts through interactive case studies spread throughout the course. Thus, students are provided with relevant specialty-specific cases and a clear structure for precise diagnosis and customized treatment plans on a case-to-case basis.
Additionally, we’ve partnered with McGraw Hill to ensure that the students are exposed to relevant and credible content with the latest advances in the course specialty through a variety of case studies, books, videos, and other learning materials. This is the future of online education, especially for healthcare professionals.
